Tirupati, in the Tirumala hills, is home to the Sri Venkateswara Temple — among the most visited pilgrimage sites anywhere, drawing lakhs of devotees every year.

It is a long trip from Visakhapatnam, so most travellers plan it as an overnight journey with a full day at Tirumala for darshan and the temple town's other sights.
